It is finally starting to feel like summer! What better way to celebrate than to make a delicious and refreshing treat? The Twice Baked Twins joined us at last year’s main event with delicious desserts. We were also super excited to see this identical culinary duo at the Diabetes Research Institute’s “D.R.E.aM.S. in the City” event with a new diabetic delight! In addition to TV and newspaper features, Judy & Joy host a variety of different recipes on their website. My fave for the upcoming July 4th holiday? This no-bake, easy-to-make Chocolate Stout Shake. It is a combination of chocolate beer and vanilla ice cream. Beer and ice cream in one recipe? Who wouldn’t want to try this?
Chocolate Stout Shake
1/2 gallon of vanilla ice cream, softened
1/2 cup chocolate beer or stout beer (I used Imperial Choklat Stout)
1 cup milk
1/4 cup chocolate sauce
whipped cream for garnish
chocolate shavings for garnish
piroline cookies for garnish
Directions: Blend all ingredients together. Taste and add more beer or chocolate to your liking. Pour into a cold glass, top with whipped cream & chocolate shavings. I love the cookie straw!
